Obituary

Kevin C. Sullivan, of Derry, New Hampshire passed away September 16th following a short battle with lung cancer. Kevin was born January 22, 1948 to the late Paul and Anne Sullivan of Boston, MA. Kevin had many fond memories of his childhood in Boston, like hanging around the schoolyard or taking the trolley with his siblings. Kevin graduated from Boston English High School in 1966. He went on to Boston State College to study history and graduated in 1970. Kevin continued to live in Boston after college and worked for Gilchrist's Department Store and South Shore Bank during that time. Kevin later moved to Derry, NH with his parents and worked at Adams and Morse until his retirement in 2009.

Kevin was an avid reader and enjoyed both fiction (mysteries, Westerns) and nonfiction books on varied topics (American and world history, boxing, sports, and Ireland). Kevin was very proud of the family's Irish heritage and often listened to Irish music radio programs. Kevin was a passionate Boston sports fan, especially the Patriots. Kevin also enjoyed watching classic films, particularly Westerns.

Kevin loved talking with family members to reminisce about the past or remember loved ones. Kevin took his duties as an uncle very seriously: he was always ready with a joke or pun and dealt out hugs and knuckle noogies in equal measure. As his nieces grew up, Kevin was always present for big milestones like graduations and weddings.

Kevin is survived by his sister Maureen Johnson of Sacco, ME and his brother Michael Sullivan (wife Carol) of Dedham, MA. Kevin was predeceased by his brother John Sullivan. Kevin was the beloved uncle to Kristin Johnson of North Berwick, ME; Susan McCulloch of Buchanan, VA; Jenna Sullivan of Newton, MA; and Courtney Sullivan of Acton, MA. Kevin is also survived by grand-nieces and nephews Anna (and her son Colton), Drew, Patrick, Mary, Maeve, and Dylan.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 22nd at 11:00am at Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
