Obituary

Ann Marie (Struthers) Duran, age 62, a lifelong resident of Winchester, departed her loving family on September 18, 2021.

Born and raised in Winchester, Ann was the daughter of Robert and Patricia Struthers of Falmouth (formerly of Winchester). She was a graduate of Winchester High School with the class of 1977, where she was a co-captain of the Cheerleading team. Ann and her husband Stephen raised their family in Winchester.

Ann loved her family and friends more than anything. Ann was the most loving, selfless, compassionate person. Her family meant the world to her and everything she did in her life was for others. She was a mother, sister, aunt, friend, and someone who lovingly cared for many children that she helped raise throughout the years. Ann was an active member of St. Mary’s church in Winchester, teaching CCD and serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Ann enjoyed her years of coaching cheerleading for the Sachem Youth Football and Cheerleading program.

Ann cherished the simple things in life. No day was ever taken for granted. She always faced a new day with a smile, a grateful heart, a cup (or five) of coffee, singing, and a positive attitude. Ann always did everything in her life to make sure her children felt her love. Decorating her home for holidays, hanging family photos throughout the home brought her tremendous joy. Ann was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the birth of her grandchildren, twin boys due in February.

Ann loved spending time on the Cape and Martha’s Vineyard. Boarding the Island Queen with her family was something she looked forward to every summer. She loved the Island Queen and the instant feeling of being on vacation once she stepped on the Vineyard.

Ann was the beloved wife of Stephen Duran for 45 years. Devoted mother of Scott Duran and his wife Christine, Allison, and Taryn Duran. Cherished daughter of Robert and Patricia Struthers, and daughter in-law of Mary and the late Charles Duran of Winchester.

She was the cherished sister of Bob Struthers, the late Patricia Struthers, Marianne and the late David Wojichowski, Richard Struthers, Thomas Struthers, Jack Struthers, Diane and Frank Asaro, and Julie and Bono Somorrostro. The sister in-law of Charles and Jeanne Duran, Linda and John Seaver, and Brenda and George Finn.

Ann is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews and two great nephews.

After courageously fighting her battle with cancer, Ann passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family.
