Betty J. (Pruitt) Cruz,83, of Chesterfield, died September 17, 2021 at Community Hospital Anderson, following a brief illness.
Betty was born May 16, 1938 in Columbus, IN the daughter of James Pruitt and Lucille (Quinn) Pruitt Covington.
She was primarily a homemaker but had worked at RCA in Marion and Bestway Cleaners in Anderson. She enjoyed ceramics, collecting baskets and dolls. She loved attending grandchildren's ball games and being involved with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jose Cruz whom she married June 27, 1970 in Marion, IN; children, Mark (Leisa) Ellingwood, Pam (Scott) Matchett, Tony (Kristin) Cruz, Brandi (Jon) Campbell; grandchildren, Justin (Nicole) Ellingwood, Carrie (Jason) Webb, Erin (Reid) Lacey, Caitlin (Collin Arney) Machett, Jacob Grummer, Gabby Grummer, Zackary (Mariah) Campbell, Natalia Campbell, Sierra Campbell; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen Hollingsworth and Janice Gwinn; Aunt, Mary Carroll and Uncle, Jimmy Quinn; several cousins, nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, James "Jimmy Don" Pruitt.
Funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Bob Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
