June E. (Scott) Witt,82, formerly of 8 Maple Lane, died Sunday,
April 9 at The Meadows of Leicester.
She was the wife of Albert V. Witt who died in 1985. She leaves three sons
Roger Witt of Spencer, Douglas Witt of Spencer and Robert Witt of Leicester,
two daughters Susan Wood of Smithfield, R.I., and Diane Dube of Leicester,
11 grand children, and 6 great grand children. A son Donald Witt of
Leicester died in 1968.
Mrs. Witt graduated from the former Classical High and Worcester State
Teachers College in Worcester. In the 1940's, she was director of the Wendle
Phillips Parker Nature Training School. An accomplished violinist, she once
played with the Worcester Philharmonic Orchestra many years ago.
She was a member and past president of the Leicester Women's Club, a
volunteer driver for F.I.S.H, and was once a Cub Scout leader. She was a
member of the Leicester Federated Church and former Sunday School teacher.
At one time she was a school teacher in the New Braintree School System.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of August and Edith I. (Haggman)
Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11 in the MORRISON-MORIN
FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St.,Leicester. Burial will follow in Pine Grove
Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour will precede the service on Thursday
from 10 to 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The
