Sandra Santos (Palombo),78, passed away on September 5, 2021 of COVID-19 related pneumonia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Manuel Santos, from Rehoboth, MA.
She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Peter Palombo and Lena (DiGiulio) Palombo. She had lived in Bradenton, FL previously living in Glocester, RI.
Mrs. Santos graduated from North Providence High School in 1960. She earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from Rhode Island College and a Masters of Arts Degree in Counseling from Rhode Island College. She was a teacher for the Warwick Public Schools. Upon her move to Bradenton, Florida, she attended graduate school at the University of South Florida where she earned a Certificate in School Counseling Post Masters. She was employed by the Manatee County School Department until her retirement.
She was the sister of the late Peter Palombo of Glocester, RI. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, Goddaughters and many lifelong friends whom she loved dearly.
A Memorial Mass will be held at The Cathedral of Saints Peter & Paul in Providence, RI at 10:00am on September 24, 2021. Interment immediately following at the RI Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Visitation Respectfully Omitted.
