Michael Glenn Taft, Sr., 59, of Ashburn passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Michael was born in Glen Falls, NY on March 8, 1962 to Donald Taft and the late Joan Besaw Taft. Michael proudly served his country with honor and retired from the United States Marine Corps. He loved traveling and attending concerts with his wife, Sara. Michael loved to hunt deer and go fishing but his favorite thing to do was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Taft of Ashburn; four sons, Michael (Chandra) Taft, Jr. of Rotterdam, NY, Daniel Taft of Ashburn, Jerry Robert (Cindy) Taft of Ashburn, and Kyle (Dominique) Rasanen of Argyle, NY; three daughters, Amy (Chad) Manning of Fort Ann, NY, Holly Lindsey Taft of Ashburn, and Kristina (Josh) Bennett of Fort Edward, NY; two brothers, Gregg (Teresa) Taft of Warner Robins, Kevin Taft of Albany, NY; nineteen grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Debra Taft; sisters, Joanne Rawlins and Kimberly Brunelle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Christian Union Church of God in Ashburn with interment to follow at the Harmony Baptist Church cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 6-8PM at Perry Funeral Chapel.
