Obituary

“Teamsters”William P. "Bill" Fornash Sr., a 52 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of Newport, Kentucky, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at his home in Charlestown. He was 71 years of age.

Bill was born in Dayton, Kentucky on October 15, 1949, a son of Goldie (McCann) Fornash and the late Carlos F. Fornash. He grew up in Newport, Kentucky where he was educated and graduated from Newport, Kentucky High School in 1966. Bill enlisted into the United States Navy on November 8, 1966 and served his country faithfully with honor and courage during the Vietnam Conflict, where he was awarded the Bronze Star and the FMFCOI/Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was honorably discharged on September 11, 1970 with the rank of Seaman Apprentice. Bill worked as a Truck Driver for Monarch/U.S. Food Service in Chelsea for over 32 years and was a dedicated member of Teamsters Union Local # 25. He was a member of the Chelsea Yacht Club and Charlestown Abraham Lincoln V.F.W. Post # 17. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling to Disney World and on occasions visiting a casino. He was also was an avid car enthusiast in his earlier days. Family was always very important to Bill in his lifetime and he took great pride and pleasure with the special moments he shared with his wife, children and especially his grandchildren who he was so proud of the many accomplishments they have achieved.

Bill is the beloved husband of 51 years to Carol J. "Minnie" (Mancuso) Fornash. He is the devoted father of Linda Saia and her husband David, William P. "Willie" Fornash Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Debbie Ann Enscoe, Carol "CJ" Murray and her husband Donald, Amanda Fornash, Boston Police Officer Adam Fornash and his wife Alison and Mazzie Jones. He is the loving Papa to Justin and his wife Erin, Timothy, Anthony, Gavin, Domenic, Emily, Jonathan, David, Miles, Jackson, Benjamin, Awbrey and his great-granddaughter Mackenzie. He is the best friend to Frank Lang. He is the beloved son of Goldie (McCann) Fornash and the late Carlos F. Fornash. He is the beloved brother of Nancy Bray, James Fornash, Trudy Jolly, Marjie Northcutt, Richard Fornash, Charles Fornash, George "Sparky" Fornash, Goldie Spicer and the late Carlos F. Fornash Jr. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Also his beloved pets Suzie and Nala.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill's Funeral on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Service in St. John's Episcopal Church, 27 Devens St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial is private. His visiting hours will be on Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 4 to 7 P.M. in the funeral home.
