Eric Andrew Nichols, 47, of Tifton died Saturday, September 11, 2021, at his residence of a sudden heart attack. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Tucker and the Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. Mr. Nichols will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Liberty Baptist Church from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Dana Diers, Brent Dunn, Jay Daniell, Brad Phillips, Will Anderson, Scott Dunn and Eric Wisham will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Dunn, Bryan Walker, Kevin Gibbs, Jamie Walker, Glen Faulk, Shannon Luke, Patrick Dixon, Michael Brooks, Lee Powell, Jeff Dixon, Chris Parson and John Chance.
Born September 24, 1973, in Tifton, Mr. Nichols was the son of Terry Nichols and Charlotte Dunn Nichols of Tifton. He was employed at Omega Farm Supply and he was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was a registered member of the Chickasaw Indian Nation and proud of his American Indian status.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles W. Dunn; and his paternal grandparents, Walter Terry and Irene Gibbs Nichols.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Nichols is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Josh and Tien Nichols of Tifton; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Golden Dunn of Omega; one niece, Layla Lan Nichols; and his cousin’s girls, Ree Daniell and Ella Daniell, who called him Uncle Eric.
