Obituary

Alyjah James Thomas

Though only 15 years old, Alyjah was an old soul who had an understanding of life well beyond his young years. He felt the pain and sorrow of others and worked effortlessly to cheer them up - often telling his mom how pretty she looked and that everything would be okay. He was amazing with babies. They absolutely adored him and you almost always caught him cradling a baby at family functions. Witty and vibrant, his smile would light up a room and he knew how to lighten the mood, whether it be with a goofy dance or a funny remark. And oh how he loved being with his family. Alyjah texted his aunties, “love you more” and frequently asked to get the family together. He also enjoyed drinking vanilla lattes and helping out on a family farm - one of his favorite places.

Alyjah James Thomas was born June 1, 2006 in St. Paul, MN as the second child of Danielle and Eric Thomas. He is the younger brother of Jayden Thomas, older brother to Peyton Thomas, and grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to countless loved ones.

A sophomore at North High School, Alyjah left us on Friday, September 3, 2021 to be with the angels. Shortly after leaving school that afternoon he was involved in a fatal car crash. Although he leaves a vast community of loved ones broken hearted, we are all comforted knowing he is at peace and we will see him again.

In celebration of Alyjah's life, we will be holding a visitation and memorial service on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Sandberg Funeral Home, 2593 7th Avenue E., North St. Paul. The visitation will begin after school, from 4-6 p.m., and the memorial service will follow directly after. The funeral home is requiring face masks at this time.

We are neither good nor bad, we are loved. And Alyjah loved and was loved in great abundance. Until we meet again...
