Obituary

Shannon Ryan Dolan 38, of Norton MA, passed away unexpectedly on September 9th, 2021.

Shannon was born in Boston, MA on October 20th 1982 and attended school in Belmont and Franklin Mass.

Most proudly he was a veteran of the Iraq War and served as a Sargent in the Marines as part of the Second battle of Fallujah, Operation Phantom Fury, 1st Battalion / 12th Marines Charlie Battery Artillery. Shannon had numerous Ribbons and Medals awarded to him and loved his country very much.

He had a great love for animals, fishing, music, history and sports. He is remembered lovingly for his meticulous craftsmanship and carpentry. He was a professional plumber and skilled mechanic. He had a passion for flipping houses.

He will be deeply missed by his mother Ligita L. Straujups of Bellingham, MA and his father, Paul “Jay” Dolan and step mother Christine Dolan of Franklin, MA along with his siblings, Kory Dolan of Marlboro, MA and his significant other Maxine Aronofsky of Marlboro, MA, his sister Brittany McNally and her husband Dan McNally of Medway, MA and sister Isabella Dolan of Franklin, MA.

He is also survived by his niece Charley and nephews Benjamin & Lukas McNally of Medway, MA. He also is survived by his loving aunts and uncles, Glen Straujups of New Hampshire, Noreen Dolan of Watertown, Denise & Paul Flynn of Arlington and Brian & Heather Dolan of Sudbury, MA. He is also survived lovingly by grandparents , Jean Dolan of Belmont, MA and many cousins.

He was especially loved by his late grandparents Paul J Dolan and Ruta Straujups.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thursday September 23, 2021 at 9AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday Sept. 22nd, from 4-7PM.

A private burial with military honors will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shannon’s memory to the Run to Home Base/Red Sox Foundation 4 Jersey St. Boston, MA 02215 an organization supporting Veterans, would be greatly appreciated.
