Obituary

Austin DelGaudio, age 30, of Billerica, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2021. Cherished son of Vicente and Rena DelGaudio of Tewksbury and brother of Evan DelGaudio of Medford. He is also survived by his grandparents, Peter Pochi of Boston, and Francisco and Gloria DelGaudio of Miami Springs, Florida, his uncle, Alan Pochi of Austin, his aunt, Gloria DelGaudio and his cousin, Giovanni DelGaudio of Miami Springs. Predeceased by his grandmother, the late Barbara Pochi and his aunt, the late Kathy Pochi.

Austin dealt with the challenges of autism spectrum disorder and seizures, so life was not always easy for him. He was both entertaining and exhausting for his parents and teachers, hell-on-wheels with a smile that could light up a room. Austin was loud, funny, stubborn and endearing, a puzzle box we were always trying to unlock. He loved classic 70s rock (on high volume, of course), Doritos and Sprite, going to Megansett beach and being with friends and family.

We can't express enough gratitude to all the women and men who worked so hard helping us create a meaningful life for our son. Thank you to the dedicated educators and therapists at his day program, Nashoba Learning Group, his medical team, and especially the group home staff who thought of him as family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Austin's memory may be made to NuPath Inc., the nonprofit organization that provided a home for him for the last eight years, 147 New Boston St, Woburn MA 01801 or at nupathinc.org.
