TEWKSBURY, MA: Raymond R. Gosselin, age 74, a resident of Tewksbury, formerly of Portland, Maine and Berlin, NH, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Blaire House of Tewksbury.
He was the husband of Mary R. (Murphy) Gosselin, with whom he celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on November 9, 2005.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire on January 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Dewey J. and Madeleine (Routhier) Gosselin.
Mr. Gosselin was raised in Berlin, New Hampshire.
He attended Berlin schools and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1950.
In addition, he attended Seminard de Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
Mr. Gosselin served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army.
He was awarded several decorations including the Army Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Gosselin was honorably discharged from active duty at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey on September 30, 1960, having earned the rank of Corporal.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed as the lead accountant for the dairy division of the Kraft Foods Company of Framingham, where he worked for over 35 years.
Before moving to Tewksbury several months ago, Mr. Gosselin resided in Portland, ME for over 25 years, where he was a communicant of St. Pius Church. He previously lived in Framingham, Marlborough, and Manchester, NH.
Mr. Gosselin was a member of the Portland, Maine Lodge of Elks.
According to his family, he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and also enjoyed playing golf with his wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister; Rochelle Hastings of Tewksbury; three brothers; Roger Gosselin and his wife Jeanine, Richard Gosselin and his wife Annette all of Berlin, NH and Roland Gosselin and his wife Roz of Springfield, PA; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 12th, 9-11 a.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will be held at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Portland, ME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 are requested.
