Conlin, Paul Of Wellesley, died on September 2, 2021 at age 76 after a long illness. Born in Baltimore, Paul was the son of the late Gertrude (Bradley) and Joseph Conlin. A graduate of Catholic Memorial High School, he was predeceased by his wife Marilyn of nearly 53 years. His family moved to Newton when Paul was in grade school and it was there that he made many lifelong friends. His tight group of friends shared many adventures throughout the Boston area and Cape Cod in their younger days and remained close as they raised families and throughout their lives. Paul and Marilyn raised three boys in Wellesley. Paul was active with his kids’ sports teams and later was a tireless observer of his grandkids’ games, meets, and recitals. A true hockey rink rat, he enjoyed attending high school hockey games even long after his kids stopped playing competitively. He had a passion for cars and could identify the make, model, and year of manufacture of any car produced prior to 1980. His fondness for dogs was matched by their fondness for him. Paul spent most of his career in the Energy and Metering field.
Paul’s greatest source of joy was his time with Marilyn. They enjoyed many loving years together and made great friends in Wellesley and Pocasset. When Marilyn’s health deteriorated, he was a tremendous caretaker, advocate, and companion until her death.
Paul is survived by his children Brad and his wife Julia of Lexington, Cole of Minneapolis, and Peter of Wellesley; 8 grandchildren Lucy, Cooper, and Milo; Henry and Louisa; Emery, Hadley, and Chase; sister Mary Sullivan of Wellesley as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Marilyn, Paul was predeceased by his sister Sheila Jones and brother Patrick Conlin.
A celebration of his life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley elizabethseton.org/donate/
