Sr, Rolande St. Denis (Sr. M. Denis de France), 83, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester died April 9, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Highgate, VT on July 4, 1912, she was the daughter of Alcide and Clara (Ferland) St. Denis. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1938 and made her final profession in 1945.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester.
Sr. St. Denis taught at parochial elementary schools in St. Albans, VT; in Massachusetts at Attleboro, Westport, New Bedford and Adams; in Groton, CT and in New Hampshire at Newmarket, Somersworth, Suncook, Nashua, Manchester and Gonic. She also spent 12 years at Notre Dame College as a librarian.
Upon retiring she was stationed at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in West Franklin. She resided at Holy Cross Health Center, Manchester since 1996.
The family includes several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday April 11, 2006 in the chapel at St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
