FitzGerald, Sheila "Esther” Of Melrose, a native of Ballymagooly, Mallow, Co. Cork, Ireland, died at her home on Monday August 30, 2021. Esther was born in Co. Cork, Ireland, the beloved daughter of the late Patrick J. and Julia M. FitzGerald.
Esther was raised and educated in Ireland and England and after immigrating to the United States, spent many wonderful years as a nurse at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Boston.
She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Sullivan of Needham, MA and Annette Heck of Farnboro Hants, England. Cherished sister of the late Maura FitzGerald of Melrose, MA, the late Kathleen Watchorn of Dublin, Ireland, the late Niamh Maxwell of Letchworth, England, the late Desmond FitzGerald of Cork, Ireland and the late Sean FitzGerald of Cork, Ireland. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and a host of friends. She will be greatly missed.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham on Monday, September 13 from 5-8pm. Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew Church, Needham on Tuesday, September 14 at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
