George T. Duffy Jr. a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his home in Charlestown. He was 70 years of age.
George was born in Boston on June 26, 1951, a son of the late George T. Duffy and Ruth (Cunniff) Duffy. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1969. George worked for New England Telephone Company for several years until he was laid off. He then took the opportunity to travel throughout the country and to England. He later began working as a custodian with the Boston Police Department for the City of Boston until his retirement following 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Boston.
George is the beloved brother of retired Boston Firefighter James Duffy and his wife Debbie and the late Jean R. Duffy and Edward Duffy and his surviving wife Debbie. He is the loving uncle to James, Courtney, Kathleen, Christine, Mackenzie, Connor and to 8 3/4 great-nieces and great- nephews. He is the beloved nephew of the late Anna Brennan. He is the dear cousin of Bernie Brennan and his wife Joanne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend George's visiting hours on Saturday morning, September 11, 2021 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 11 A.M. His burial is private.
