Obituary


William Ebersole “Bill” Kee, 96, “slipped the surly bonds of earth” on Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Ojai, CA, after a brief illness. Bill was born in Los Angeles, CA, to Robert Harrison Kee and Ila Vorhauer Kee on December 28, 1924. He attended George Washington High School until he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1943-1946. He was an auto and motorcycle mechanic, fought in several campaigns in the Philippine Islands and then was stationed in Japan. He was awarded the Combat Infantryman Badge, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Philippines Liberation Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. Upon his return to Los Angeles, he completed his high school education. He attended National Schools in Los Angeles for his Diesel Automotive Mechanic certificate on the G.I. Bill. He was employed at Port Hueneme Construction Battalion Center during the Korean War through the early 1960s and then Point Mugu Naval Air Station until he retired in 1982. He continued to work as a heavy equipment operator until 2006, helping his friends and neighbors with their projects.
Bill is survived by his wife, Tina; son, William (Paula); daughter, Jacque (Dennis); grandchildren, Christopher and Carolyn; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Everett, and Matthew. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Ojai Valley Community Hospital, 1306 Maricopa Hwy., Ojai, CA 93023. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Ojai Valley Community Hospital for their care and kindness. memorial services will be announced at a later date.
