Joanne (Solimine) Buoncuore, a life-long Medford resident died Wednesday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. She was 68.
Born in Revere and raised in Medford, Joanne was the daughter of the late William and the late Mary (Polcari) Solimine. A dedicated wife and mother who loved to cook for family and friends, Joanne worked with Cross Country Auto Service in Medford for over 20 years. She was a dedicated Red Sox fan and also enjoyed the occasional trip to Foxwoods.
She was the beloved wife of Roland Buoncuore. She was a devoted mother to Rollie Buoncuore and his wife Susan of Malden, Robert Buoncuore and his wife Linda of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Matthew, Nicholas, Kaitlin and Robbie. She was a dear sister of Rosemary Scavongelli and her husband Richard, Lucille Carpenter and her husband John and the late William Solimine and sister-in-law of Janice Solimine. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 3 - 7. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
