Obituary

Ursula Alfred passed from works unto eternity on September 2nd, 2021 in Dorchester, Mass at the age of 78. Ursula passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her granddaughter Ancilla and grandson Carl.
Ursula was born on October 29th, 1942 in Trinidad and Tobago, only child to her parents Pearl Callender and Lionel Williams. Ursula attended primary and secondary school in Trinidad. She obtained her Associate Degree from Fisher Junior College. Ursula went on to obtain her medical assistant certificate at Bryman Institute in 1992. She also graduated from Seimens Burdick Incorporated where she obtained a certificate as an ECG Technician. Her passion was always to provide medical care to those in need. She worked for the Boston Visiting Nurses Association as a home health aide for many years. Ursula went on to work for Partners Healthcare in Medical Records from which she retired in 2012. Ursula was a founding member of the Children of St. Ann’s Spiritual Baptist Church. She loved her church community and was committed to ensuring that the word of God was known to all. She brought many to salvation and was the spiritual mother to Ronald Payne, Taniva Munroe and Devon Pitter. Ursula loved sewing and tending to her house plants but most of all she always sought to increase her knowledge of the scripture. She would spend countless hours reading her Bible and all other books pertaining to God’s written word and completed a Bible Correspondence Course with The Voice of Prophecy. However, spending time providing care to her grandchildren was one of her greatest joys.
She believed that America was virtually a land of milk and honey and that being here provide endless opportunities for herself but even more so for her children. She first left Trinidad in 1972 when she left for St. Maarten. This initial travel would lead her to travel further North to San Juan Puerto Rico before arriving at her intended destination Boston Massachusetts on February 2nd, 1978. She would live the rest of her life in Boston where her children eventually joined her.
Ursula was preceded in her death by her mother Pearl Callender, father Lionel Williams, husband Frederick Alfred, son Andre Joseph, grandson Kymani Pitter and Carl Williams Jr.
Surviving to honor her legacy are her four children, Antoinette Andrea Warno, Gregory Anselm Williams, Wayne Andrew Williams and Carolyn Isabelle Pitter; grandchildren Francis, Hubert(Jose), Phillipe, Ancilla, Craig, Carl, Adrianna, Gregory Jr, Jamol, Javon, Anthony, Aquame(Justin), Andrew, Devon and Brent; great grandchildren Brianna, Andrea, Shyanne, Aydrien, Saniyah, Aamaya and Caiden. She loved and enjoyed her relationship with her daughter in law’s Marlene, Allison and Stacy as well as her son in laws Robert and Christian.
Ursula was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed however her memory lives on in each of us as well as everyone who came to know her.

A Public Viewing will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Friday, September 10th at Joseph Russo Funeral Home 814 American Legion Hwy (near Cummins Hwy) Roslindale. A Religious Service will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, September 11th at The Joseph Russo Funeral Home with Rev. Gregory Williams officiating. Interment at Mt Hope Cemetery Mattapan.
