PORTER- On August 28, 2021, Michael Eugene Welch, loving husband and father of 3 daughters, passed away at the age of 69. Born on December 2, 1951, to Phillip and Dorothy Welch, Michael was raised in the tight knit community of Kezar Falls, Maine, where as a youth he enjoyed running the projector at the Kezar Falls’ Movie Theater. Michael loved sharing stories of his time spent with his grandparents, Sidney and Armine Frost, fishing local brooks, attending auctions, and gardening. Michael will be remembered as a friend to many in this community, who loved riding his motorcycle. He was a lifelong fan of basketball, particularly the Boston Celtics, although he lamented the new slower pace of the game. He had a wonderful contagious laugh, curious sense of humor, and a kind spirit. Until his death Michael treasured his connection to his friends and community. Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Celsa “Lynn” Welch; his sister, Diane Wentworth; his daughter’s, Hannah Welch, Tina Nelson, and Agnes Austero; and 4 grandchildren, Kayleigh Nelson, Madison Brown, Bronwen Brown, and Noah Michael Cook. Michael will be deeply missed by everyone who’s life that he touched. A celebration of his life will be held at his residence, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021. All are welcome to come and share in stories of his memory.
