Sandy Adam Nieves, 76, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, August 27, 2021, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Nieves was born June 28, 1945, in Easton, Pennsylvania, to the late Clyde Adam, Sr. and the late Marguerite Easterly Adam. She was raised by her father and step-mother, Mary Adam. She worked as a janitor at a high school in Pennsylvania and also as a seamstress for Champion Outerwear in Fitzgerald. She loved to crochet and enjoyed listening to music and dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Wilfredo “Freddy” Nieves of Fitzgerald; daughter, Karen & Will Kelly of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: William “Spain” Kelly, IV and Adam Kelly, both of Fitzgerald; a brother, Alan “David” Adam of Tifton; and two sisters: Barbara Adam of Fitzgerald and Betty Wideman of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
