Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Mary T. (Bosworth) O'Connor, 67, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on July 30, 1954, a beloved daughter of the late Charles J. and Blanche M. (Kodes) Bosworth. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. She was employed as an Adminstrative Assistant at the former R.P. Childs Stamp Company in Springfield. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed camping in Vermont. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and her cherished grandson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Richard J. O'Connor who was Called Home on February 15, 2019. She leaves her two loving children, Richard J. O'Connor, Jr. and Lori A. Bond and her husband, David, all of Springfield; her cherished grandson, Aiden Michael Bond; her dear brother, Joseph Bosworth of Springfield; her dear brother in law, John P. O'Connor of Springfield; and her many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Francis Kelly. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. There are no visiting hours. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
