Obituary

Thomas N. DeRosa passed peacefully on August 24, 2021, at the age of 76.

Tom will be remembered as a loving, funny, and dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and overall family man.

Tom was born in Queens, NY. in 1945. Tom was raised in Bergenfield, NJ where he and his wife Kathy were high school sweethearts. Tom was the eldest son of John and Mary DeRosa.

Tom was a Franklin resident for nearly 20 years. Prior to that he resided in Needham, MA. Tom coached both Little League and middle school basketball and ran the in-town basketball league. He was a big sports fan and loved his New York Yankees and New York Giants.

Tom worked for Polaroid for over 34 years in Sales, Operations, and IT where he made many friends along the way. Tom had a collection of all the original Polaroid cameras and video technology which were used to capture numerous family occasions.

Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathleen DeRosa, his three sons: Tom DeRosa and his wife Dr. Julie Stepanian, Craig DeRosa and his financee Jessica Sheehan, and John DeRosa and his wife Brianne DeRosa. Tom is also survived by his Grandchildren: Tom DeRosa, Tim DeRosa, Christine DeRosa, Ella Stepanian, Paul Stepanian, Alexa DeRosa, Tyler DeRosa, Allie Sheehan, Jared Sheehan, Liam DeRosa, and Patrick DeRosa. He is also survived by his three siblings: Joe DeRosa, Ann DeRosa, and Mary DeRosa, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Claire DeRosa.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Saturday, August 28th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 10 am – 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
