Obituary

Elinor Mae Golner Koretsky passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, aged 93.
She was born on October 14,1927 in Roxbury, Massachusetts to the late Morris & Dora (Cohen) Golner.

Elinor was born into a tight knit family; she adored her parents and grew up surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. A beloved sister to the late Isobel (Golner) Regan, Burton Golner and his wife Rochelle, Jerry Golner and his late wife Mimi.

In 1951, Elinor married the love of her life, Irving, who she referred to as “my fella.” They loved dancing, entertaining, travel, music, drive-in theaters, and going out with their large circle of life- long friends. They became parents to 3 daughters, Diane, Linda, and Marcy. Family was the joy and light in Elinor’s life.

Elinor’s love of family expanded as her daughters married, and she gained 3 incredible sons-in-law, David Poncz, Cliff Larsen, and Ahmad Khraibi. Greater joy followed when she became a grandmother to Adam, Talia, Trevor, Reid, Nicholas, and Kyle. Elinor’s family blossomed further with the addition of Adam’s wife Taylor and their three sons, Mason, Parker and Walker and Talia’s husband Alan.

Elinor worked as a bookkeeper for much of her adult life and especially enjoyed her time at Charleston Chew. She was an accomplished baker, known for her famous apple pie, cookies and dazzling desserts. She loved shopping and fashion and took great pride in her wardrobe and accessories.

Elinor was a kind and thoughtful person with a strong moral compass. She leaves behind a legacy of love and deeply instilled family values.
