Robert Paul Curran, 56, of New Bedford died Wednesday April 5, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Sandra (Travers) Curran.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Rose (Bettencourt) Curran of Cocoa, Florida, and the late Francis L. Curran, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a member of the Hope Evangelical Community Church.
Mr. Curran was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford Cemetery Department.
Survivors include his wife and mother; two daughters, Crystal Curran and her companion Jason Mercer of Fall River and Laurel Curran of New Bedford; three stepchildren, Joshua, Eric, and Tracy Martin, all of New Bedford; a brother, Gary Curran and his wife Jackie of Rochester; two sisters, Carol Curran and her companion Edward Sampson and Debra Curran, all of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Sharon M. Curran.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday April 10, 2006 at 10 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday April 9, 2006 from 4-8 PM.
