Fall River – Gilda (Marcelino) Rapoza, 88, of Velvet Avenue, Westport died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Highlander Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Manuel Rapoza, Jr.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Francisco and Ermelinda (Carreiro) Marcelino, she was a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Rapoza was a sewing machine operator at various mills in the Fall River area.
Survivors include a daughter: Judith A. Oliveira and her husband Antone D. of Westport; 5 grandchildren: Nancy Desrosiers, Susan Husk, Antone Oliveira, Jr., Brian Rapoza and Deborah Rapoza; and 9 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Robert M. Rapoza.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, April 10, 2006 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday 4 – 8 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
