Lorenzo Francis DeSimone left this earth on Monday, August 16, 2021, at the young age of 21. Lorenzo and his family lived in Smithfield, RI.
Lorenzo was born in Providence Rhode Island and was the son of Peter and Kimberly DeSimone and the brother of Biagio T. DeSimone. As a life-long resident of Smithfield, Lorenzo was active in his community and with his middle and high school, LaSalle Academy.
Lorenzo was a dedicated Smithfield Youth Soccer Association member, a bass player for the LaSalle Pep Band and Jazz Club and an Eagle Scout with Troop 1 Greenville.
Lorenzo continued his education at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA where he was to be a rising senior in Computer and Data Science. He was an active and avid gardener as the Secretary of the Greenhouse & Horticulture Club.
Lorenzo was a committed and loyal friend to his Smithfield and LaSalle friends, his coworkers and his extended family. He always was there to comfort others, lend a hand, help or provide an ear. He approached life with open arms and brought light and optimism to those that needed it.
Lorenzo is survived by his grandparents Ann Marie and Timothy Hennessey and predeceased by Pietro and Raffaela DeSimone. Lorenzo was loved by his many aunts, uncles and cousins from both the DeSimone and Hennessey families.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, from 3:00-7:00pm in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 21, at 11am at St. Philips Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be private. The family respectfully requests those attending services to please wear a mask.
