Patricia (Abruzese) Johnston of Stoneham passed away on Monday, August 16th, at Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. Raised and educated in Medford, she was the beloved daughter of the late Pasquale and Mafalda (Tempone) Abruzese. Patricia was the former Director for Mary Kay cosmetics, and salesperson for Macy's in Belmont. She was a longtime member and officer of Catholic Daughters, Court St. Clementine and the State Board. For many years Patricia was a major fundraiser for Easter Seals.
Patricia was the loving wife of Richard A. Johnston, Jr. of Stoneham, and the dear sister of Robert G. Abruzese, also of Stoneham, and his late wife Pamela. She was the loving aunt of Stephen Foy and his wife Rebecca of Tewksbury, Susan Drinan-Porter and her husband Jeff of Walpole, Robert G. Abruzese, Jr. and his wife Malissa of Somerville, and Jennifer Krueger and her husband Michael of Wilmington. Patricia is also survived by five grandnieces and one grandnephew.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 22nd, from 4 through 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Monday at 9 AM followed by a mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
