Obituary

DUDLEY – Peter U. Vandale III, 66, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 in UMass/Memorial University Campus with family at his side.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Linda A. (Haskins) Vandale; a sister, Dolores A. Cloutier and her husband Joseph V. Cloutier, Sr of North Oxford; 3 nieces, Catherine A. Owens and her husband Patrick of Seabrook, NH, Christine J. Clark and her husband Don of Wethersfield, NH and Paula M. Cloutier of West Lebanon, NH; a nephew, Joseph V. Cloutier, Jr. of South Grafton; 7 great-nephews and great-nieces; and a sister-in-law, Lois A. Haskins and her partner Allan Thomas of Raynham. His brother, Robert A. “Bobby” Vandale, Sr., died in 2009.

He was born in Webster on January 12. 1955 and raised there, a son of Peter U. Vandale II and Evelyn (Cyr) Vandale. He graduated from Bay Path Regional Vocational High School in Charlton in 1974 and lived in Dudley since 1982.

Mr. Vandale first worked at Webster Lens as a supervisor. He then was a shipper at Stevens Linen in Dudley. He became a baker at Price Chopper in Webster for 10 years, retiring because of illness in 2014.

He enjoyed watching sports, golfing, fishing and going to the beach at the ocean. He traveled to Aruba yearly for 10 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Peter was an excellent cook; he prepared all the meals. He enjoyed searching the Internet for new recipes, always wanting to try something new.

Peter’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the oncology department at UMass for the wonderful care they provided for the 7 years of his illness.

His funeral will be held Saturday, August 28, at 10:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road. A time of visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster.
