SPRINGFIELD – Harry S. Diede, 62, of the Forest Park section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Attleboro, MA on April 11, 1959, a beloved son of the late John R. and Marie J. (McKinley) Diede. He was raised in Plainville, MA and had lived in Attleboro, Minnesota, Florida and Cape Cod before moving to Springfield in 2008. He was last employed in the maintenance department at Wingate in West Springfield. He was a member of the Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam. He loved to work out with his buddies at Century Fitness in East Longmeadow and also enjoyed fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Celeste B. (Douillard) Diede; his two loving daughters, Carlene Uribes and her partner, Todd, and Brittany Torres, all of Minnesota; his 13 cherished grandchildren; his two dear brothers, John "Jack" Diede and his wife, Kim, of Dunnellon, FL and James "Jim" Diede and his wife, Jessie, of Buzzards Bay, MA; his three dear sisters, Janice Johnston of Billings, MT, Patricia Darling and her husband, Harold, of Plainville, MA and Annmarie Diede of Plainville, MA; his dear brother in law, Raymond Douillard and his wife, Arlene, of Westfield; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving son, Harry S. "Buster" Diede, Jr.; his two loving daughters, Michelle Emery and April Musson; and his dear sister, Carolann Bowlin. His family will receive friends on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. which will be followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107. His burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made in Harry's memory to Baystate Behavioral Health, Baystate Health Foundation, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
