Obituary

LYMAN- Terry David Garnsey II, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on August 10th, 2021. Terry was born May 28th, 1982 in Glens Falls, NY to the parents of Terry and Kathleen Garnsey. Terry most recently resided in Lyman, ME with his long time girlfriend Kaitlyn Ouellette and favorite bad beagle dog Lilly.

Terry attended Bonny Eagle High School and received his diploma from Royal Academy in Gray, ME.

Terry was a jack-of-all trades and had many talents. He was a tow truck driver for many of his early working years, working for George Varney at G & K Motors in Windham, ME. Terry was also a truck driver, taking after his father and grandfather, a crane operator, carpenter, dump truck driver and most recently owned his own business calling himself “The Dirt Guy”. He was always delivering loads of dirt, recently built a beautiful stone-wall and was always looking to help whoever needed it.

One of Terry’s favorite things to do was spend time with family and close friends. Mario Kart was a fierce competition for our family and one of our most cherished memories, especially when he lost. Terry was a strong supporter of the 2nd amendment. He not only enjoyed shooting guns, but also enjoyed teaching the younger generation about guns and gun safety. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with extended family in New York, brothers Michael and Zack Springer, along with his second set of parents Kurt and Merry Springer, who loved him dearly.

Terry enjoyed everything with a motor, including dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and racing John Deere tractors with one of his best buddies Devin. He enjoyed motorcycles, classic cars and trucks, and also enjoyed wheeling and dealing.

Terry was pre-deceased by maternal grandmother June Alexander and paternal grandparents Raymond and Marilyn Garnsey, close Uncle James Alexander Sr., and his best buddy Richard “Red” Shaw. He was also pre-deceased by many other family members and close friends over the years.

Terry is survived by parents Terry and Kathleen Garnsey, sister Rachael Garnsey and her children Karley, EmmaJune and Liam Barber and brother Jeremy Meyers (Marla). Also, Michael Springer, who was his brother since the first day of Kindergarten and brother Zack Springer, sister Jaydeen Marr (Kevin) and long term girlfriend Kaitlyn Ouellette. Aunt Chris Alexander, Aunt Steff Alexander, Great Aunt Jane Myette, Aunt Debbie Diamond (Frank), Aunt Sue Picard (Buddy) and Uncle Scott Garnsey. Also survived by several other family members, many close friends around the country and many children he considered nieces and nephews.

Services for Terry will be held Saturday, August 21st, 2021 at the Livingstone Community Church located at 711 Ossipee Trail Standish, ME 04084. Calling hours are from 1:00pm to 3:00pm with a service from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Terry’s name to any charity of your choice.

All of us know Terry was a protector of everyone close to him and one of the most generous, loving, and loyal people we have ever known. He was an organ donor and his last gift was the gift of life for two other men and their families. We love you forever and always. Gone, but can never possibly be forgotten. “Phish food, my favorite!”
