Peters, Janet (Jinny), 83 years old of, formerly of Pocasset, MA passed peacefully on August 4, 2021 after a brief illness. Mrs. Peters was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Jane Dickson, and by her late husband Dr. Alfred Peters. She is survived by her sister, Kitty (Dickson) Dukakis, and brother-in-law, Michael Dukakis and their children; John, Andrea and Kara Dukakis. A loving mother of Elizabeth (Betsy) Barry of Somerset, Michael Shain of Bourne, Robert Shain and his wife, Dr. Albuquerque-Shain of Sandwich. Grandmother of Richard Shain of Foxboro, and Michaela, Shain and Liam Barry of Easton. Stepmother to Karl Peters, Al Peters and his wife, Lori, John Peters and his wife, Diane, Therese (Peters) Stephens and her husband, Jerome, Gerard Peters, Chris Peters, Julia (Peters) Fenn and her husband, Paul, and Kurt Peters and his wife, Kimberly. Grandmother and great-grandmother to many. She enjoyed years of traveling and taking care of everyone she loved after retiring from her 26 year career as a beloved kindergarten teacher in Dedham, MA. She was truly the Anchor of her ever-growing blended family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Memorial services will take place on Sunday, August 22nd at 2pm at The Brookside Club, located at 11 Brigadoone Rd. Bourne, MA 02532.
