Michael F. Taft, 59, of Upton, MA passed away suddenly on July 31, 2021 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, MA.
He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 27, 1961. He graduated from Nipmuc Regional High School in 1979. He was the son of the late Ellery and Madeline (Simmons) Taft, who were long time residents of Mendon, MA. Michael was a crane operator, truck driver and welder. He loved fishing, off-road motorcycle racing and hot rods. Like his father, he always had a sparkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. He was quick with a joke, had boundless energy and a story for everything. He was well known and loved by his many friends and family, and will be greatly missed.
He leaves behind his partner, Jocelyn Thibeault and his beloved cat, Jimmy. His brothers, Robert Taft of Lecanto, Florida and Richard Taft and his wife Tammy of Framingham, and his sisters Kathleen and her husband Larry Kyral of Arkansas, Susan Webster of Milford, Karen Phillips of Hopkinton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Candace Stanish of Spring Hill, Florida. There will be a private burial for the family, and a celebration of life gathering for friends and family at a later date to be announced.
