Obituary

Violet A. (Ferrini) Petrone, 97, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 2, 2021, at her home. (Of course, she would never admit to being 97 as she kept her age private and celebrated “Name Day” rather than birthdays!)

She was the wife of the late Nicholas L. Petrone, Jr.

Born and raised in Brockton, a graduate of Brockton High School, she was the youngest daughter of the late William and Giacinta (Jesse) Ferrini and sister to her late siblings, Mary, Edea and Diana.

She lived on Grafton Street in the true Italian fashion surrounded by her mother, sisters, brother, aunts, and uncles living on the same block amongst vegetable gardens, fruit trees and her very closest, life-long friends. She traveled extensively with family and friends, but, always eager to return home.

Superior Bakery Co. of Brockton was founded by her grandfather and has been run by succeeding generations to this day, for 101 years. This was an important part of her life. She had round bread toast every morning for breakfast!

For over 50 years, she was the beloved and sought-after bridal consultant at Romm Diamonds, which was a second family to her. Everyone knew and loved Violet. They gravitated to her for her wisdom, her passion, her interest and love of people, and her desire to envelop them in true beauty. To this day, generations of people adore their diamonds, silver, and gold.

Violet will be forever known for her legacy of giving never ending advice and telling it how it is. Her family was the center of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews, (Cherie, Bruce, Robin, Cindy, Joey, and David) the children she never had, but wanted. Later, she enjoyed her growing number of grandnieces and grandnephews and now, great grand nieces and nephews who would pile on her bed and shower her with kisses.

Violet is survived by her brother, Joseph A. Ferrini, and his wife, Jackie, of North Easton, who were devoted to her for a lifetime.

The combined visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (RTE 123) Brockton, followed by a Committal service at the Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Masks are suggested but not required.
