Henry D. Gelinas, age 63, of Haverhill formerly of Woburn passed away, Wednesday April 5th following a brief illness. Born in Haverhill he was the son of Barbara (Crowell) Gelinas of Haverhill and the late Henry L. Gelinas.
Henry was raised and educated in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. After high school Henry served in the United States Air Force for three years during the Vietnam War. He continued serving with the Air Force Reserves for many years. Henry worked as a mail handler at the North Reading Annex of the United States Postal Service for the past 18 years.
Some of Henry´s hobbies included his love for model airplanes and cars, and science fiction movies. He especially enjoyed traveling to Disney World with his children over the years.
It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Henry´s memory to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
In addition to his mother, He is survived by his daughter, Christen Hutchinson and her husband Christian of Woburn and England, and a son, David E. Gelinas of Bedford. He is also survived by his grandson Joseph R. Hutchinson. He is further survived by his former wife Mary Lucas - Gelinas of Bedford and his sister, Kathleen Gelinas of Haverhill.
Visiting hours will be held at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Friday, April 7th, from 3 thru 7 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Services will be private.
