Obituary

CATINO, Eugene “Gene” age 92 of Dedham, Osterville, MA and Ft. Myers, FL passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on July 29, 2021. Beloved husband of Ann M. (Connelly DeCoste) and the late Eleanor (D’Ercole). Born in Boston on July 4, 1929, he was the son of the late Anthony and Celia Catino. Devoted father of Stephen and his wife Mary of Bridgewater, Marie Burke of N. Easton and Barbara Notartomaso and her husband Robert of N.Easton. Stepfather of Sheree Rau of Norfolk, Charles DeCoste of Littleton and Michelle DeCoste of Boston. Brother of the late Anthony Catino and Dorothy Schoner. Lovingly survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Everyone who knew Gene felt his love and warmth. Gene was an avid golfer, passionate reader, a fabulous cook and enjoyed traveling. Retired employee of Boston Edison, and a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corp. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Monday, August 2nd at 9am. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 pm. Relatives and friends invited. A private military burial will be held on August 5th at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
