Judy F. Nelms, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at her residence.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Nelms was born May 19, 1950, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Carl Hedden & Dorothy Walker Hedden May. She was the Executive Director of the Housing Authority in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Boice of Pensacola, Florida; a son, Charles Underwood & Jackie of Opelika, Alabama; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Shelby Tanner & Warren of Jacksonville, Florida, June Morris & Don of Fitzgerald and Carol McKie of Abbeville and a sister-in-love & in-laws, Anne & David Nelms of Fitzgerald. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy “Arnie” Nelms; four brothers: Earl Walker, Mack Walker, James Walker and Robert Walker and three sisters: Exa Walker Bennett, Lynn Walker Sanford and Sue Walker Adkinson.
