William Jackson “Jack” Pierce, Sr., 86, of Brookfield passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mr. Pierce will be laid to rest at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2021, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Jeremy Fletcher, Jayden Fletcher, Joseph Banks, Josey Gonzales, Chris Kostelecky and Junior Gonzales will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Cardwell and Darrell Mallard.
Born August 28, 1934, in Tifton, Mr. Pierce was the son of John Wesley Pierce and Myrtice Leona Eason Pierce. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Stephens Pierce; two sons, Stephen Pierce and William Jackson Pierce, Jr.; one daughter, Leigh Pierce Marshall; and one stepdaughter, Kay Sutton. Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Kelley Manufacturing Company in Tifton. He loved his children; loved to fish; and he loved to aggravate, pick at and cut up with people.
Mr. Pierce is survived by one son, William Wesley “Bo” Pierce of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Debbie Pierce Fletcher of Enigma and Sherry Pierce Cardwell of Perry, Florida; two stepsons, Chris Kostelecky of Adel and Earl Robinson of Poulan; three stepdaughters, Duane Stephenson, Phyllis Spradley and her husband Randall of Tifton and Kim Robinson, all of Tifton; eleven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and twelve step great-grandchildren.
