John Isaac Walters, 54, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, July 26, 2021, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, August 1, 2021, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with Pastor Larry Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Mr. Walters was born August 6, 1966, in Volusia County, Florida, to the late Mick Virgil & Mary Katherine Johnson Walters. Mr. Walters was a hard worker and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Ben Hill County Road Department for 26 years. He was a member of Open Gates Ministry and loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife of 8 years, Amanda Walters of Fitzgerald; a son, Jared Walters of Fitzgerald; two grandchildren: Angel McRae and Launa McRae; two sisters: Carrie Walters and Katie Walters of Florida; a brother, Ike Walters and his mother-in-law, Carolyn Busbin of Fitzgerald. Many nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Walters and two brothers: Mitchell Walters and George Walters.
