Obituary

Mary D. "Honey Girl"(Campagna)(Riccio) Goveia, 84, was called home to God on Saturday, July 24, 2021.  She was born on August 12, 1936 in Boston, the daughter of Salve and Mary (Kulchinsky) Campagna.  She grew up in Boston’s West End where she attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Girls High. Not long after graduating high school, she relocated to Somerville to start her family. In the 1970’s she moved to Tewksbury and remarried to Henry Goveia. They made their home in Tewksbury for many years.

In her younger days, she worked at the First National Bank of Boston, stopping to raise her family. As her children grew older, she worked for Analog Devices in Wilmington for over 15 years.

She was a woman of devout faith. She also enjoyed spending time at the Lowell Senior Center, as well as the Tewksbury Senior Center where she was part of the Golden Age Club. She enjoyed playing bingo at the senior centers with her many friends. She loved playing cards with her family, but most important to her were her family gatherings. Nothing brought her more joy than when her whole family would gather at her home.

She is survived by her children; Albert and Cynthia Riccio of Chelmsford, Stephen and Jeanne Riccio of Tewksbury, Robert and Victoria Riccio of Wilmington, Christine and Russell Kaizer of Tewksbury; her brother Salve Campagna Jr. of Tewksbury; as well as 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was the mother of the late Henry A. “Turk” Goveia Jr., and the late Joseph Riccio, and the sister of the late Frank Campagna.
