Obituary

TIVERTON – Kenneth J. Simpson, age 67, of Tiverton passed away peacefully in his home after a battle with liver cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Mary (McQuade) Simpson, of 35 years. Born and raised in Taunton, he was the son of the late William and Irene (Menard) Simpson. He graduated from Taunton High School to then enlist in the Navy as a Corpsman, where he served for 21 years traveling all over the world in various duty stations and received many awards. Upon retiring from the military, he attended New England Tech, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Computer Technology. He then went on to develop and maintain computer programs for Meeting Street Center, O’Brien & Gear and Aetna. He was a member of the VFW in Tiverton for the past 4 years and recently became a member of the American Legion. Kenneth loved to travel, especially on cruises. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughters Lisa DeJesus (husband Michael) of Fall River and Jennifer Cardona (husband Peter Arruda) of Swansea. He was predeceased by his son David Simpson. Kenneth was the brother of Luanne Simpson of Nantucket, Susan Wood of Warwick and the late Paul and Edward Simpson; grandfather of Jared Motta (wife Ally), Jaden Mota, Alexander Arruda, Cora DeJesus and Logan Arruda. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Following cremation, please join in celebrating Kenneth’s life, visitation will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Saturday, July 31st from 11 A.M. - 1 P.M. with a service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to American Cancer Society.
