Paula B. Dolan, 70

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Paula (Brousseau) Dolan, age 70, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly, yet comfortably and peacefully at home on Thursday, July 22, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Owen F. Dolan, Jr., to whom she was wed for forty-seven years.

Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on May 26, 1951, she was a loving daughter of the late Normand and Joanna (Silva) Brousseau.

Paula grew up in Pawtucket and was a graduate of Tolman High School. She furthered her studies, graduating from Rhode Island College with a degree in nursing and later with a master’s degree in public health from the University of Rhode Island.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Dolan had been employed as a Health Policy Specialist for the United States State Department in Washington, DC. She had formerly worked for five years for the United States Peace Corps Headquarters in Washington, DC and along with her husband Owen served the Peace Corps in Jamaica in the 1980’s.

She had made her home in Mansfield for the past four years and was formerly of Alexandria, Virginia. Paula’s family was truly the love and essence of her life. She was an accomplished knitter, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing dominoes and will always be remembered for her fabulous cooking skills.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted son Casey O. Dolan and his wife Caitlin of Norwood. She was the cherished and proud grandmother of Madelyn and Natalie Dolan. She was the dear sister of the late Jeanne Swanson. She was the loving aunt of Jill Danese and her husband Craig of Lynnfield, Dawn Swanson of Attleboro, Eric Swanson of Los Angeles, California and the great aunt of Madison and Sydney Danese.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 27th from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at the Godere Funeral Home, 21 N.2nd Avenue, Taftville, CT.

Her Mass will follow the visitation on Tuesday, July 27th and will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, 213 Broadway, Norwich CT. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Norwich, CT.

Following the committal services, a reception will be held at the Caddy Shack Cafe in Norwich, CT
