Dickens, Donald A., 74, a long-time resident of Crescent Manor Rest Home in Grafton, MA, died July 14, 2021, at Mt. Auburn Hospital, while receiving rehab care for COPD at Park Ave Health Center in Arlington. Mr. Dickens was predeceased by his parents Louise and Archie Dickens and a brother Richard, all of Hooksett, NH. He is survived by his sister Sylvia Dickens-Lurowist of Arlington MA, his niece and nephew, an aunt in Littleton NH, and several cousins. Mr. Dickens was a graduate of Pembroke Academy in Pembroke NH and held various production and custodial jobs while living in NH, CA, and then MA.
Donald was a quiet, gentle, good-humored, and uncomplaining soul, who was particularly fond of animals. He had a knack for numbers and enjoyed cards, chess and watching team sports. In his later years, he found comfort and was buoyed by his strong Christian faith and regularly attended the Baptist Church of Grafton.
