East Bridgewater - Mildred V. (Lang) Swartz, 90, of East Bridgewater, formerly of West Bridgewater, died Monday morning, April 3, 2006, at Brockton Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Ralph B. “Buncey” Swartz for 60 year.
Born Aug. 15, 1915, in Middleboro, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (McNeil) Lang.
Mrs. Swartz and her husband owned and operated Buncey’s Night Club in West Bridgewater from 1943 to 1963 and Buncey’s Golf Course from 1964 to 1982.
She had been living with her daughter in East Bridgewater for the past five years, coming from West Bridgewater.
She is survived by her children, Ralph R. Swartz and his wife Mary of Garner, N.C., and Karen Villa and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater; her son-in-law, William Bowler of Nantucket; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and her dear friend, June Ferreira. She was also mother to the late Jaye Bowler and sister to the late Charles Lang, Elizabeth Guilford, Albert Lang and Barbara Lang.
Her Funeral will be held from the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Thursday at 9:15 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
