Worcester – Raymond P. “Butch” Hassett, 65, of 1050 Main St. died on Monday April 3 in his home after being stricken ill.
He is survived by his spouse Anne Marie O’Brien; two daughters Heidi and Tammy; a brother David “Skip” Hassett of Worcester; a sister Pat A. Hassett of Rutland; three step children Michelle Garriepy, Sarah O’Brien and William O’Brien all of Worcester; 11 grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Hassett was born in Worcester son of James J. and Leona M. (Desilets) Hassett.
He worked as a painter for many local contractors and enjoyed fishing as well as being a Red Sox Fan and a lover of dogs.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday April 6 fro 5 to 7 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. followed by a Celebration of Mr. Hassett’s Life at 7:30 PM.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League 139 Holden Street Worcester, MA 01606.
