Edward F. Brown, Jr., 85

Dateline: Yarmouth Port, MA

Edward F. Brown, Jr., age 85, of Yarmouth Port, formerly of Venice, Florida and Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Toby Hospital in Wareham. He was the beloved husband of Angela M. (Klandt) Brown, to whom he was wed for over sixty years.

Born in Medway, MA on March 12, 1936, he was a loving son of the late Edward F., Sr. and Mary A. (McLaughlin) Brown.

Ed grew up in Medway and was a 1953 graduate of Medway High School. He continued his education, graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, Texas.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Brown had worked from 1979-1995 as a Product Engineer in Information Service Systems at the former Motorola Corporation in Mansfield. He had previously served his country in a career that spanned twenty-four years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

A resident of Yarmouth Port for the past six years, he was a former communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield. While residing in Florida, he was a communicant of Our lady of Lourdes Church in Venice, a member of the American Legion Post 1953 and the VFW Post 159, both in Venice.

Ed was a devoted family man and treasured the times spent with his wife, his son and daughter-in-law and his grandson. His hobbies included playing golf and being a former member of the Capri Isles Men’s League in Venice.

In addition to his wife Angela, he was the devoted father of Walter F. Brown and his wife Laurie of Attleboro and the late Monica M. Brown. He was the cherished grandfather of Theodore “Teddy” Brown and the late Zachary Brown and Dustin Brown. He was the dear brother of the late James Bachman and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.


Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 21st from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

His funeral will begin on Thursday, July 22nd at 9:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
