Obituary

Margaret (MacLellan) Berube, age 99, of Andover and Harwich Port, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2021 surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of the late John G. and Katherine MacLellan.

She was born at home on May 2, 1922 in Dunvegan, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and grew up in Tewksbury, where she was a longtime communicant of Saint William’s Church. In her later years she was also a communicant of Saint Patrick Parish in Lawrence.

For many years she owned and operated John G. MacLellan Oil Co., Inc. with her sister Sarah.
They enjoyed many happy years in Harwich Port with family and friends – the door was always open, with a warm welcome and a good time assured.

She was devoted to her family and to her faith and we will miss her presence for the rest of our lives.

She is survived by her children Jane Sullivan (Jack) of Andover, Lou Berube (Joni) of Groton and Garrett Berube (Catherine) of Andover. She leaves her beloved grandchildren John F. Sullivan III, Anthony D. Sullivan (Rachel), Margaret Rose Sullivan and her fiancé Alex Tierney, Louis J. Berube, Caitlynn Berube, Andrew Berube, Collin Berube, Jack Berube, Sadie Berube, Callum Berube and Garrett Berube, as well as her great grandson Mason Sullivan.
She is also survived by her sisters in law Ann MacLellan, Tess Berube and Mary Lou Katz, her brother-in-law Jerry Katz, as well as her many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leo J. Berube as well as her siblings Marian Hanley, Allan MacLellan, Lauretta Grogan, Josephine Hedstrom, Sarah MacLellan and John G. MacLellan, Jr.
