FALL RIVER – Eugenio I. Rebelo, age 88 a resident of Somerset since 1968, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Rabo de Peixe, São Miguel, Açores to Basilio and Maria Carlota (Sousa Travassos) Rebelo. He was the beloved husband of Ana Maria (Azevedo) Rebelo.
Prior to retiring, Eugenio worked for 32 years as a Stacker Operator for J.J. Corrugated Box Co. of Franklin, MA. He was a devoted parishioner of St. John of God Church. In his free time, Eugenio loved to tend to his pristine yard, always keeping it maintained and manicured.
In addition to his beloved wife of Somerset, Eugenio is survived by his daughter: Marianna Rebelo; his two sons: Eugene Rebelo and David Rebelo; two brothers: Agostinho Rebelo & Jose Rebelo; three grandchildren: Nicole, Lindsey, & Michael Rebelo; several nieces & nephews. Eugenio was the brother of the late Maria Eugenia Leite, Natalia Couto, Basilio Rebelo, and Carlos Rebelo.
Eugenio’s funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA. on Wednesday, July 14th with visitation from 7:30-8:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for Masses to be said in Eugenio’s memory.
