Ralph J. Moretti, Jr., age 79, of Medford passed away on Friday, July 9. Born and raised in Malden, he was the son of the late Ralph J. and Camilla (DelGenio) Moretti. Ralph proudly served in the Navy Reserves and was transferred to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crises, serving aboard the Destroyer USS Miller. He has lived in Medford since 1964.
Ralph was an exceptional father and grandfather. He owned his own barber shop in Arlington, and cut hair at other shops as well as for his crewmates in the Navy. Ralph enjoyed making model airplanes, watching John Wayne movies, and reading. Later in life he worked at Papa Gino’s Restaurant and Bob’s Italian Foods in Medford.
Ralph was the beloved husband of the late Aldine (Ferretti) Moretti, and the devoted father of Christine Medaglia and her husband Frank, and Aldine Raso and her husband John, all of North Reading. He was the loving grandfather of Aldine Elaine and Isabella Raso, and the dear brother of Anthony Moretti and his wife Elaine of Stuart, Florida, and Robert Moretti of Framingham. Ralph was the loving uncle of Anthony Moretti, his wife Amy and their sons Anthony and Thomas of Framingham, and Marc Moretti, his wife Leah, and their children Roman and Natalie of Wilmington, Robert Moretti Jr. of Milford, and Sarah Moretti of Hadley.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 20th from 4 - 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Wednesday, July 21st at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Ralph’s name to a charity of One's choice.
