Obituary


Richard A. (Dick) Scoullar of Provincetown, died Tuesday July 6, 2021. He was 89 years old. After months of failing health, he passed at home with his wife Eugenia and daughter April by his side.

Richard was born October 25th, 1931, in Rhode Island. Enlisting in the Air Force at a young age, Richard proudly served as a radar technician for 24 years. Upon retiring from the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant, Richard continued his technical career in radar for the Federal Aviation Administration.

A lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, he served as Commander for the Lewis A. Young Post, VFW, in Provincetown.

Richard loved to travel, visiting several countries, both while in the service and in retirement. With the exception of Hawaii, he was able to visit every state. Always active, Richard enjoyed family camping trips to Maine, surrounded by the people he loved. An avid but responsible gambler, Richard enjoyed nothing more than frequent trips with his wife to Foxwoods. Almost every weekend would involve family and friends’ get-togethers, playing poker for pennies.

Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years Eugenia, and their children, daughter April Silva and husband Timmy, sons Robert and wife Nancy, Richard Jr., and Roy and wife Noelle. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Richard was predeceased by his mother Maida Bunker, and a son Russell.

Calling hours are Thursday, July 15th, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Gately Funeral Home, 94 Harry Kemp Way, Provincetown. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at Provincetown Cemetery.
